Here is your reminder to look for your daily delights today. I’m sure once you take a look around your day, you’ll see how many (mini or big) delights have always been sitting there, just minding their own business, waiting to be noticed; to be appreciated.
On this particular day, I sang aloud as I played along with the poetic keys of my piano. My moment of solitude would not be forsaken, as it rarely occurs despite my nagging pleas. A quiet house with only the piano and my voice to fill, the poetic notes guided me along with a wavering line of any direction I pleased.
I realized as I sang the lyrics that were echoing passions of lush leaves of the forest, rivers rushing and rhythmic drumming, my soul transformed into a soul wandering through the wilderness. She was covered in dirt and content rambling without a map or any destination in place.
She felt the soil beneath her toes, and she breathed the green whispers of air in deeply. Her golden skin was dewy and pink and her obliviousness to her appearance was radiating. She was powerful, wandering in that forest of green because it was what fueled her, what made her whole. The forest and all it offered was everything she needed to be happy…to feel safe…to feel empowered. To feel… herself.
