At work this week we have no air conditioning. One would presume that would be adequate reason to work from home…I mean, we have full capability to connect to the major networks from home and do our job in all its entirety without any hinderance. So, we’re going to work from home, right? Wrong. For some odd reason, our team is sticking it out with no air flow, no estimate of when this missing part will arrive and no relief in sight. It seems everyone is in denial at this point and trying to push through the sting of the sweat in their eyes, but why? Why are we just gritting our teeth, pretending all is fine and dandy, for multiple days in a row now?
Being too nice is a real hindrance sometimes. We accept things that we shouldn’t, and we smile and keep our thoughts tucked away, while in reality we’re frustrated, feel disregarded and want to state our mind. This can stream into a multitude of situations we are thrown into…what’s your normal pattern? In this ongoing present inconvenience, (coming from yours truly), we’re waiting to see the green light from the “top dog”, alas…it doesn’t come. And so, we push onward. Resentfully working with our glistening, rosy faces, dresses hiked up inappropriately and sweaty hair messily thrown up into pony tails…suffering unnecessarily.
What’s even more baffling is… we all see it. We all know being too nice can be a double-edged sword and were basically sitting on it voluntarily at this point. I suppose if you need to stop being too nice, you need to either not care, or care too much (care too much about yourself, that is). If anyone knows how to get off the “too nice” merry-go-round of self-induced torture, please do let me know. Because my hot ass can’t take this another day!
